Job summary

Florida Virtual School is seeking an Instructor for the Florida Scholars Academy in Tampa, on-site at Hillsborough Girls Academy. The role focuses on remediation, acceleration, and academic growth for at-risk students within DJJ facilities.

Teaching multiple subjects, you will plan engaging lessons, manage classrooms, and track student progress. Requires a Bachelor's degree and FL teaching certificate (or active enrollment in EPI/MAT with eligibility).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in content area assigned OR enrollment in state-approved EPI or MAT program with eligibility.
• ESE Certification, preferred; Gifted Endorsement, ESOL Endorsement, and Reading Endorsement, preferred.
• Teaching experience in subject area or FLVS internship or enrolled in approved EPI/MAT program.
• Operational knowledge of Internet and web-related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging instructional activities in assigned subject(s).
• Identify and modify instructional resources to meet diverse student needs.
• Supervise students and maintain attendance records.
• Maintain accurate gradebooks and provide counseling regarding progress.
• Collaborate with supervisor and peers to enhance instruction through team teaching and professional learning.
