Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an In-patient Coder to handle inpatient coding and data entry for hospital acute in-patient visits. The coder will use the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline coding and billing processes.

Essential tasks include ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, DRG assignment, physician queries, and validation of medical necessity across CABG, orthopedics, and medical cases; will float between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification required.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases.
• Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes and DRG accurately.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent client and team service.
• Float between sites and coding specialties.
