Afinida Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Technician to join our Escondido, CA team in person. You will handle daily payroll data entry for a diverse client portfolio, ensure timely processing, and provide accurate payroll information with a focus on service quality.

The role includes garnishment calculations, year-end reporting, and maintaining payroll records while complying with federal and state regulations. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of payroll technician experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to deal with confidential material.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily payroll department operations.
• Manages workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
• Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validates reports.
• Understands proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
• Processes correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
• Processes accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.).
• Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system.
• Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
• Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
