Job description

Help shape the future of care. Develop people. Make a difference.

At Belong, we believe exceptional care starts with exceptional people. As we prepare to welcome colleagues, residents and families to our new Birkdale village, we're looking for a passionate and engaging In-House Trainer to help build a confident, capable and compassionate team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something from the very beginning, helping to establish a positive learning culture and ensuring colleagues have the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver the outstanding, person-centred support that Belong is known for.

About the role

As our In-House Trainer, you'll play a key role in supporting the development of colleagues across Belong Birkdale.

Working closely with village leadership and our wider learning and development colleagues, you'll coordinate and deliver engaging training, support new starters through their induction and help colleagues continue developing throughout their careers.

You'll bring learning to life, making training practical, inclusive and relevant to the people delivering care and support every day.

What you’ll be doing
  • Delivering engaging induction, mandatory and refresher training to colleagues across the village.
  • Supporting colleagues with the Care Certificate and ongoing professional development.
  • Providing practical coaching and guidance to embed safe, person-centred care.
  • Identifying learning needs alongside village managers and developing appropriate training solutions.
  • Maintaining accurate training records and supporting compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting new starters to feel welcomed, confident and prepared for their roles.
  • Evaluating training effectiveness and helping translate learning into improved everyday practice.
  • Championing Belong's values and creating a culture where colleagues feel encouraged to learn, grow and succeed.
Why join Belong Birkdale?

Joining Birkdale means more than stepping into a new role. You'll have the opportunity to help shape the learning culture of a brand-new village, influence how colleagues develop and make a lasting contribution to the experience of the people who live and work here.

You'll become part of a values-led, not-for-profit organisation that believes in investing in people and supporting colleagues to be the very best they can be.

About you

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about developing others and understands the importance of high-quality training in a care environment.

You'll ideally bring:

  • 1+ year of experience delivering training, coaching or workplace learning in a workplace setting.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding, person-centred care, CQC standards, dementia care practice, medication training, and moving and handling.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging colleagues at different levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills, confidence maintaining training records, and experience maintaining digital compliance records.
  • Experience using a learning management system, an e-learning platform, and an HR system.
  • Experience working with care colleagues on the floor, village managers, and new starters during induction.
  • A willingness to work towards a recognised training or teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Experience delivering induction training and mandatory refresher training is a plus.
  • Experience providing practical coaching on the floor and supporting colleagues through the Care Certificate would be an advantage.
  • Most importantly, you'll share our belief that people deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and individuality.
