Job summary

BGE, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Survey Data Technician to support the Survey team by managing, processing, reviewing, and preparing field-collected survey data.

This role serves as a key link between field crews and project deliverables, ensuring survey information is complete, accurate, and ready for mapping and client delivery. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with survey data processing, topographic data, field documentation, surface modeling, and QA/QC procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Working knowledge of land surveying practices, terminology, and field-to-finish workflows.
• Experience processing survey data, reviewing field notes, or supporting survey drafting and deliverables.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Ability to organize multiple projects, priorities, and daily data submissions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily field logbooks and project records.
• Receive, organize, and archive daily field files.
• Coordinate with field crews to resolve data discrepancies.
• Download, process, and organize daily topographic survey files.
• Post-process survey data for drafting, mapping, and deliverables.
• Review feature coding and linework for consistency.
• Maintain organized working files and preserve data per standards.
• Review construction plans and prepare staking calculations.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of field notes for completeness and clarity.
• Identify errors or conflicts in field data and coordinate corrections.
• Create field packets and line out survey crews for jobs as needed.
• Clean up topographic survey data and linework for mapping and final deliverables.
• Input and verify utility and drainage invert information.
• Prepare finished survey topo data products and surface models.
