Job summary

Topographic, Inc. is seeking a Data Technician to perform technically complex surveying and mapping tasks and to review field data for accuracy and compliance with Topographic Standards.

This role requires coordinating with project managers, field crews, and internal teams to ensure timely, quality deliverables. Proficiency in CAD and data processing, plus strong communication and organizational skills, will support accurate drawings, reports, and documentation across project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of mathematics used in field survey analysis.
• Understanding and ability to apply methods and standards of technical report writing and computer-assisted surveying applications.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret field notes and sketches.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to draft reports and letters.
• Basic understanding of survey procedures and survey field data collection methods.

Responsibilities

• Interact professionally with internal personnel.
• Convert all applicable data into electronically generated drawings and project documents with accuracy and neatness.
• Communicate between PM and Field Crew to ensure work is complete and meets quality expectations.
• Communicate with other employees regarding project schedules.
• Basic understanding in CAD Software, Data Processing, File Maintenance Management and the ability to adapt to other software applications.
• Other duties as assigned.
