Job summary

Gulf States Engineering Co., Inc. in Mississippi seeks a Service Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, test, and maintain pumps, motors, controls, and related equipment in a shop setting.

You will perform preventive maintenance, rebuild components, document inspections and repairs, and provide technical support to customers and internal staff. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and strong communication, with occasional field duties and safety considerations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical, vocational, or mechanical training preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, or maintaining pumps or rotating equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and rebuild pumps, motors, controls, and related equipment in a shop environment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, equipment overhauls, and component replacement to restore equipment to manufacturer specifications.
• Disassemble, evaluate, clean, and reassemble pumps and mechanical components.
• Conduct operational testing and performance evaluations to verify equipment functionality.
