Job summary

Gulf States Engineering seeks a Service Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, test, and maintain pumps, motors, controls, and related equipment in a shop environment for municipal and industrial applications.

You will document repairs, support field service as needed, and collaborate with the team to meet safety and quality standards while building strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, or maintaining pumps, motors, or related rotating equipment.
• Knowledge of centrifugal and submersible pumps and associated controls.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics and repair documentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to lift and move equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and rebuild pumps, motors, and related equipment in a shop.
• Perform preventative maintenance and component replacement to restore equipment per specifications.
• Disassemble, evaluate, clean, and reassemble pumps and mechanical components.
• Conduct testing and evaluate performance to verify repair quality.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Document inspections, repairs, testing results, parts used, and service recommendations.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal staff.
• Assist with inventory management and maintain a safe work environment.
• Support occasional field service work and equipment startup as needed.
