First American, a long-standing mortgage services leader, seeks an Associate Operations Counsel to provide in-house legal and regulatory guidance on servicing documentation and compliance. You will interpret federal/state laws, draft and review mortgage documents, and partner with operations and product teams to implement changes while minimizing risk.

Ideal candidates have a law degree, US admission, and 1–3 years of relevant experience in mortgage servicing.

Formación

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Admitted to practice law in the US.
• Typically 1–3 years of professional experience in mortgage servicing law.
• Licensed to practice law, in good standing.
• Direct experience with residential mortgage servicing regulations, compliance, and documentation.
• Working knowledge of government agency and investor requirements.
• Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate into practical documentation.
• Strong legal research and written/verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.

Responsabilidades

• Facilitate the business objectives of the Division(s) and Company with timely legal support while minimizing risk.
• Provide practical, high-quality counsel on mortgage servicing documents and regulatory compliance.
• Research and interpret federal/state mortgage servicing laws and investor requirements.
• Review, develop, and maintain mortgage servicing documents and forms for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on documents, systems and processes.
• Collaborate with operations, product, technology and compliance teams on servicing documentation questions.
• Assist clients' legal and compliance contacts to resolve servicing-related questions.
