Job summary

First American is seeking an Associate Operations Counsel to provide legal guidance on mortgage servicing regulations, document requirements, and investor rules. You will draft and review servicing documents, interpret laws, and stay ahead of regulatory changes.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree and US bar admission.
1–3 years of professional experience in mortgage servicing regulation and compliance.
Experience drafting mortgage servicing documents and borrower communications.
Ability to interpret federal/state mortgage servicing laws and regulatory requirements.
Strong communication and organizational skills; able to work independently and with teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Provide timely and effective legal counsel to mortgage servicing divisions, minimizing risk.
Research and interpret federal/state mortgage servicing laws and investor requirements.
Review, develop, and maintain mortgage servicing documents and forms for compliance.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on documents and processes.
Collaborate with operations, product, tech, and compliance teams on regulatory changes.
Research and resolve mortgage servicing questions with clients' legal contacts.
Support internal stakeholders with regulatory guidance and training.
