Job summary

Scion Staffing seeks an experienced Corporate Litigation Paralegal for a direct-hire role in Houston, TX. The paralegal will support in-house litigation matters from inception to resolution, coordinate discovery, manage deadlines, and liaise with outside counsel.

Key duties include organizing documents, maintaining matter files, tracking schedules, assisting with regulatory inquiries, and producing reports on litigation trends. Strong civil litigation knowledge and tech fluency required.

Qualifications

• Previous litigation experience, preferably supporting an in-house legal department or large law firm.
• Strong understanding of civil litigation processes, including discovery and e-discovery.
• Experience managing litigation files from intake through resolution.
• Knowledge of court filing procedures and litigation deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal matter management software.
• Experience with legal technology, reporting tools, or AI-enabled legal workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from opening through closure, maintaining accurate matter files and case records.
• Coordinate engagement and communication with outside counsel and internal business partners.
• Organize, collect, and review documents for claims, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and litigation matters.
• Coordinate discovery, document preservation, litigation holds, e-discovery, and document productions.
• Track and maintain litigation deadlines, including discovery schedules, court deadlines, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement activities.
• Support responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and claims by gathering and organizing relevant information.
• Prepare reports and analyze litigation trends for legal leadership.
• Maintain legal matter management systems and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Serve as a liaison between the legal department, outside counsel, and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely communication and case progress.
• Assist with additional litigation and legal operations projects as needed.
