Job summary

Publix Super Markets is hiring an In House Maintenance Technician to service warehouse facilities. You will read blueprints and manuals, repair/install equipment, and perform plumbing, carpentry, welding and cutting. A CMMS is used to track work orders.

This full-time role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays, the ability to lift 40 pounds, and ownership of basic hand tools. Advancement opportunities exist.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and solve math problems.
• Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, lift, reach, push, pull, climb, and crawl.
• Successfully complete required tests: Computation, Following Written Directions, Space Visualization, Mechanical Aptitude.
• Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
• Ability to generate and process work in a CMMS.
• Ability to supply and maintain hand tools.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and ability to advance.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Repair and adjust machines or devices; install new equipment.
• Perform plumbing, carpentry, welding and cutting tasks.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate and process maintenance repairs.
