Job summary

Cisco Systems is seeking an in-house counsel in the Legal organization, operating in a hybrid model with two in-office days per week at select locations in the United States.

You will draft and negotiate complex sales and technology licenses, advise on AI and IP issues, and help shape strategic commercial deals while ensuring privacy and regulatory compliance across global business units.

Qualifications

• JD and 5+ years of legal experience in technology industry.
• Expert knowledge of commercial, contract and business law including IP, software licensing, data use rights, privacy and security.
• Familiarity with data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, EU Data Act) and strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate bespoke, complex sales and technology licenses with major customers.
• Advise on AI- and IP-related issues including data licensing, ownership and indemnification.
• Provide counsel across direct and channel sales, including pricing and distribution terms.
• Collaborate with Finance to align deal terms with revenue recognition policies.
• Act as trusted advisor to senior Sales leadership and Finance, offering practical guidance.
