Job summary

Summit Line Construction, based in Utah, seeks an In-House Counsel to provide legal guidance on contracts, compliance, risk assessment, and claims management across multiple projects and jurisdictions. The role involves drafting and negotiating agreements, reviewing RFQs, and advising on regulatory matters for a growing construction portfolio.

The successful candidate will have a JD, 3+ years in private practice or in-house roles, and must be licensed to practice law.

Qualifications

• JD; 3+ years of experience in private practice or in-house.
• Licensed to practice law in applicable jurisdiction.
• Experience with large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and revise contracts and related transactional documents (agreements, leases, licenses).
• Research and advise on statutes, rules, and regulations, including OSHA and employment laws.
• Draft correspondence, motions, pleadings, positions statements, and claims.
• Oversee licensing and permitting in multiple jurisdictions for construction activities.
• Manage construction claims and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Develop recommendations to minimize legal risks and ensure compliance.
