Job summary

Summit Line Construction seeks an experienced In-House Counsel to provide legal guidance on contracts and operations. You will review, negotiate, draft, and enforce agreements for projects from bid to wrap-up, and analyze requests for quotations and related documents for commercial and legal accuracy.

You will manage licensing, risk, and claims across jurisdictions, coordinating with outside counsel as appropriate, while traveling up to 20% and maintaining high legal standards.

Qualifications

• JD; 3+ years of experience in private practice or in-house.
• Licensed to practice law in applicable jurisdiction(s).
• Experience with large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction projects.
• Strong contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiating skills.
• Ability to collaborate with legal and non-legal professionals.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Must pass mandatory drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and revise contracts (agency, subcontracts, leases, easements, licenses).
• Research and advise on statutes, regulations including OSHA and multi-jurisdiction employment laws.
• Prepare legal correspondence, motions, pleadings, briefs, and claims for the company.
• Oversee licensing and permitting for construction activities in multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage construction claims and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Develop recommendations to minimize legal risk and ensure compliance.
