Job summary

Step Up Family Services is seeking an Intensive In-Community (IIC) Therapist to deliver in-home and community-based services for youth and families in Middlesex County, NJ, including New Brunswick. Flexible schedules with part-time, per diem, or full-time options and W-2 employment.

The role emphasizes licensed and provisionally licensed clinicians, with compensation reflecting LSW/LAC ($50–$60/hr) or LCSW/LPC ($70–$80/hr) depending on licensure, plus benefits and supervision support.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
• Experience providing behavioral health or therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and/or families preferred.
• Community-based or in-home services experience preferred.
• Experience supporting youth and families affected by trauma, autism/developmental disabilities, substance use, or complex needs valued.
• Newly licensed clinicians encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work independently in community-based settings and collaborate with teams.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to engage youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive in-home and community-based therapeutic services to youth and families.
• Conduct regularly scheduled sessions based on clinical needs and goals.
• Develop, review, and maintain individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver interventions addressing behavioral, emotional, and family needs.
• Engage youth and families as active participants in treatment and progress.
• Monitor progress and adjust approaches as needed.
• Collaborate with parents/caregivers and the youth treatment team.
• Complete required clinical documentation on time.
• Communicate scheduling, services, and client needs clearly.
• Participate in supervision, consultation, and team meetings.
