Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide in-home and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Quakertown, PA and surrounding communities. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, companionship, and helping clients engage in community activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional, Behavioral Health Technician, or CNA preferred but not required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass required background screenings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Support community integration and participation in recreational activities.
• Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
• Promote independence while ensuring safety and well-being.
• Document services and client progress accurately.
• Follow individualized care plans and behavioral support plans as needed.
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional relationship with clients and families.
