Job summary

ADT is seeking a Smart Home Consultant to guide residential customers in designing and installing a home setup that protects what they value most. You will blend hands-on installation with consultative sales, educating customers on our app and features while tailoring solutions to their unique needs.

You will activate systems, install security hardware and IoT devices, and ensure integration with the customer’s existing setup.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; location-based licenses may be needed.
• Strong customer‑focused communication skills are essential.
• Technical aptitude with smart home devices and connected technologies.
• Ability to understand how multiple products interact within a home network.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-home consultations and assessments.
• Recommend smart home and security solutions based on customer goals.
• Install and activate security hardware, cameras, IoT devices, and smart home products.
• Integrate new products with the customer’s existing setup.
• Troubleshoot and answer technical questions for customers.
• Complete onboarding and product education for customers.
• Build long-term confidence with proactive support and upsell where appropriate.
