Job summary

Macomb County Government is seeking a part-time Home Maintenance Technician to perform minor household repairs, heavy cleaning, and install safety devices in seniors’ homes. You will conduct in-home assessments and coordinate with the Office Of Senior Services to identify client needs.

Role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3+ years in construction trades, plus a valid Michigan driver’s license. Preference given to those with a builder’s license and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or building trades.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and insured automobile.
• Michigan Residential Builder’s license preferred.
• Knowledge of building and construction best practices.
• Ability to speak and write English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor household maintenance such as faucets and door locks repairs.
• Carry out heavy-duty cleaning including wall washing and carpet cleaning.
• Install and maintain safety/accessibility devices like grab bars and handrails.
• Schedule in-home visits and inspect homes for defects.
• Complete required documentation for client referrals and coordinate with agencies.
• Operate an automobile to perform assigned job functions.
