Job summary

Met Council in New York City seeks a Repair/Maintenance Technician to perform minor in-home repairs for senior and disabled residents, traveling by company van and ensuring safety and accuracy in all paperwork. You will maintain tools, manage inventory, and coordinate with other workers as needed to complete tasks efficiently.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.
• Bi-lingual English/Russian or Spanish preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and patient approach with older adults.
• Proficient with digital tools such as computers and tablets.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor in-home repairs in homes of NYC senior and disabled residents.
• Complete appointment paperwork and documentation using technology.
• Drive company van to repair sites.
• Maintain tools and work vehicle in good order.
• Maintain standard inventory of materials.
• Complete assigned paperwork in a timely manner.
• Work independently or with other repair workers as needed.
