Job summary

Adventist Health is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide in-home and acute care-based therapy under licensed PT supervision. The role supports patient mobility, balance and functional activities, while documenting care and educating patients and caregivers.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, an associate degree preferred, two years of related experience, and licensure plus CPR/BLS and a valid driver's license. Training and patient education are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED required.
• Associate's/Technical degree preferred.
• Two years' technical experience preferred.
• Experience in therapy in an acute care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy treatments under supervision of licensed physical therapists.
• Instructs patients through bed mobility, transfers, gait and balance activities.
• Mentors and trains staff on technical skills as needed.
• Observes treatment precautions and reports changes to supervising staff.
• Documents patient interventions and services in chart notes in a timely manner.
• Provides education to patients and caregivers, tailoring to learning styles.

Education

High School Education/GED or equivalent

Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience

Two years' technical experience

Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit and/or out patient setting

Tools

Physical Therapy Assistant licensure

CPR/BLS certification

Valid Driver's License
