Job summary

Adventist Health seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide bedside and outpatient therapy under supervision. You will implement modalities, manual techniques, and exercise programs while guiding patients in mobility and balance activities.

The role includes documenting treatments, educating patients and caregivers, and mentoring staff on technical skills. Requires PTA licensure, CPR/BLS, and a valid driver's license; experience in acute or outpatient settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Two years' technical experience: Preferred
• Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit and/or out patient setting: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs physical therapy treatments under supervision of licensed physical therapists.
• Instructs patients in functional activities: bed mobility, transfers, gait, balance.
• Observes treatment precautions and reports changes to therapists/nurses.
• Documents patient interventions and services in chart notes.
• Educates patients and caregivers, adapting to learning styles.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
