Job summary

Adventist Health seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide treatments under licensed PT supervision in Battle Ground, WA. You will use modalities, manual techniques and guided exercise, and educate patients and caregivers on therapies.

The role involves supervising staff on technical skills, charting interventions, and ensuring safety. A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's/Technical Degree is preferred, with CPR/BLS and a valid driver's license also required.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Two years' technical experience: Preferred
• Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit and/or out patient setting: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs physical therapy treatments, including the use of modalities, manual techniques and common exercise techniques.
• Instructs and guides patients through functional activities, such as bed mobility, transfers and gait and balance activities.
• Observes and follows treatment precautions as identified by physical therapists, nurses or physicians.
• Observes for changes in patient responses and reports changes to nurses and physical therapists in charge.
• Provides daily and timely patient chart documentation of interventions and services provided in the acute care setting.
• Documents employee and out-patient treatments, as necessary.
• Provides education and training to patients and caregivers, while incorporating learning style preferences. Assesses education and training responses.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
