Job summary

MaineTouch LLC seeks Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home, non-medical care to adults and seniors. You will support daily living, safety, and independence in clients’ homes or residential settings.

No experience is required—training and ongoing supervision are provided. There are full-time and part-time options with flexible shifts, and opportunities for advancement in caregiving pathways.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, or willingness to enroll within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required - training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home non-medical care to adults and seniors as per client plan.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting.
• Support mobility and transfers, including use of mobility aids if needed.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, and errands as outlined.
• Prepare meals, assist with grocery shopping and meal planning.
• Provide companionship and maintain daily routines.
• Observe changes and report safety concerns to supervisor.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines and maintain client confidentiality.
• Respond to emergencies and follow MaineTouch policies.
