Job summary

At Home Healthcare, part of LHC Group and a member of the Optum family, UnitedHealth Group, is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide in-home therapy to patients, helping restore them to their fullest physical ability.

Responsibilities include following the supervising OT’s plan of care, documenting patient progress, and instructing patients and families. Licensure, CPR, and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Proven ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Following all state specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising OT
• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to the state laws governing occupational therapy assistants
• Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant
