Job summary

Mercy provides in-home occupational therapy services to patients with neuromuscular, skeletal and perceptual disorders under physician direction. The clinician will assess, treat, and document patient progress in a home-health setting.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited OT program, active state license, CPR certification, and at least one year of relevant experience. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional driving in hazardous conditions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current state OT license and valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of one year experience in acute, rehab, outpatient, home health or long-term care setting.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and work independently.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Two years’ experience in acute care or home care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home occupational therapy services under physician direction.
• Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain timely documentation and communicate with agency staff, physicians, hospital staff and the public.
• Schedule patient visits efficiently and adapt to changing schedules.
• Follow safety procedures, including driving in hazardous conditions when required.
