Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Orem, UT is seeking an Interior Designer to lead the In-Home Design program, translate client needs into design concepts, and strengthen sales teams with design expertise. This role elevates the design culture with professionalism and integrity.

The position offers training pay during ramp-up, plus an uncapped commission structure and earnings potential of $65,000–$75,000+ after training, with base salary and ongoing incentives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent experience.
• Passionate about home furnishings and design trends.
• Detail-oriented with strong color, texture and layout sense.
• Confident working directly with clients to bring design vision to life.
• Experience in design, home furnishings, or client-focused retail is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program to draft potential design solutions, present customized portfolio presentations tailored to the client’s requirements and preferences to achieve or surpass store and individual design sales goals.
• Schedule and conduct in-home consultations to understand client's unique needs, preferences, and vision for their space.
• Partner with Store and Sales Managers to provide coaching, training, and support to sales teams to improve design culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, strategies, and overall in-home design performance.
• Create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and decor to translate client lifestyle, taste, and budget into actionable recommendations.
