Job summary

Dungarvin is hiring a Direct Support professional to provide 1:1 in-home and in-community support. You will assist individuals with daily activities, transportation, and independence goals, using a personal vehicle for appointments and shifts. Mileage reimbursement is offered.

Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and be comfortable with technology. Position is full-time with a 9am–7pm schedule; wage starts at $19.50 per hour and may vary by experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old or 21 depending on the person-served.
• Education, training, or two years equivalent experience with developmental disabilities or mental illness.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Willing to drive a 30-mile radius.
• Able to use technology and possess a smartphone with data.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals 1:1 in-home and in-community to promote independence.
• Help with daily activities: personal care, meal prep, transportation, housekeeping, laundry.
• Maintain a clean, safe space and support personal goals.
• Provide skill development in areas like community participation, health, safety, and wellness.
• Attend team meetings, write progress reports, and support communication with the team.
• Coach, mentor, and encourage individuals toward their goals.
