Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking an In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarian to serve Cleveland, Shaker Heights, and surrounding areas. This role offers autonomy, meaningful family-centered care, and the opportunity to practice compassionate end-of-life veterinary medicine in pets homes.

The ideal candidate will be a licensed DVM with strong communication skills, comfortable working independently in a mobile care setting, and available for rotational weekend scheduling.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to travel between appointments.
• Ability to work independently as a mobile veterinarian with team support.
• Strong empathy and professionalism in end-of-life conversations.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and euthanasia services within your service area.
• Travel independently to scheduled in-home visits in a mobile veterinary care setting.
• Perform examinations, medical management, sedation, euthanasia, and related services within regulations.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for every patient encounter.
• Collaborate with Heartstrings team and referring veterinarians to ensure coordinated care.

Education

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
