Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring veterinarians for in-home hospice and euthanasia to serve Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen and Prosper, Texas. If you value autonomy and meaningful family-centered care, Heartstrings offers a different way to practice.

This role focuses on in-home care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate end-of-life services, with freedom to tailor schedules while supporting families in difficult moments.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided or eligibility to obtain one.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel between in-home appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, and euthanasia services.
• Travel to scheduled appointments and operate in a mobile veterinary setting outside a traditional clinic.
• Perform exams, assessments, medications, sedation, euthanasia, and related veterinary services within regulatory scope.
• Educate families through quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy and clear communication.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each encounter.
• Communicate professionally with families, Heartstrings team, and referring veterinarians.
• Safely handle and assist with movement of companion animals during in-home visits.
• Maintain professionalism, clinical independence, and reliable field service.
