Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking compassionate veterinarians to provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia services across California, including Rancho Cordova, Folsom, Gold River, and surrounding areas. Work independently in a mobile practice that prioritizes empathy, patient comfort, and family support.

The role emphasizes professional autonomy in a privately held, family-owned and doctor-led environment with a firm stance against non-compete agreements.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided or eligible.
• Valid US driver’s license and ability to travel between appointments.
• Ability to work independently in a mobile veterinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and euthanasia services.
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments and work outside a traditional hospital setting.
• Perform physical exams, clinical assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and documentation.
• Educate families on end-of-life care options with empathy and clear communication.
• Maintain accurate medical records for each patient encounter.
• Collaborate with Heartstrings teams and referring professionals.
