Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a Hospice CNA to join its hospice and home health services network. The role involves providing compassionate personal care under a registered nurse supervision, observing and reporting patient status, and supporting comfort and dignity in a patient’s home.

Responsibilities include routine baths, grooming, meal assistance, mobility support, and safe operation of equipment; candidates must meet state CNA training requirements, be 18+, and hold CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Meets the State training requirements for hospice aides.
• Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
• Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to 16 hours of practical training.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Satisfactory references from previous employers.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision; able to work in a patient’s home.
• Comfort with death/dying and maintaining a calm demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks per patient assignment and respond promptly to requests.
• Provide positive communication with patient and family within ethical and respectful care.
• Assist with dressing, transfer, ambulation and range of motion as directed.
• Assist with meals, feeding, and basic nutrition.
• Observe and report patient condition and changes to the Case Manager.
