Job summary

Scylla Solutions in Maryland is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide outpatient rehabilitation in home-based settings for older adults. You will evaluate, treat, and guide patients in their homes or in independent living facilities, tailoring therapy to functional environments and promoting independence.

The role includes supervision of assistants, coordinating with the rehab team, documenting care, and adapting plans to patient needs while maintaining safety and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Occupational Therapy license in the state(s) of practice or license eligibility.
• Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to patients’ residences.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
• Adhere to department and patient treatment schedule, ensure timely clinical and billing documentation and attend work-related meetings.
• Participate in patient care, staffing conferences and related meetings.
• Refer to other disciplines/agencies to address comprehensive patient needs.
• Consult with rehabilitation team members to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
• Adapt care plans according to individual patient needs and safety guidelines.
• Promote a safe environment and eliminate fire and safety hazards.
• Order and maintain supplies and equipment; report repairs as needed.
• Deliver patient-centered care with empathy and respect for patient rights; ensure high quality service.
• Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses and plan care; develop goals and implement therapy across domains (cognition, strength, mobility, ADLs, etc.).
• Design, fit, and train patients in adaptive devices including orthotics/prosthetics; select activities suited to patient capacity.
• Instruct patients in functional activities and monitor progress; modify plans as needed.
• Perform routine reexaminations to progress treatment plans when necessary.
