Job summary

Floor Coverings International is seeking a Design Associate in Cary, NC to conduct in-home consultations, present flooring solutions, and manage the customer relationship end-to-end. Role requires self-motivation, strong communication, and organizational skills.

You’ll work flexible full-time hours, including some evenings and weekends, with company-provided leads, a vehicle for appointments, and ongoing training. Base pay plus uncapped commission supports earnings growth.

Qualifications

• Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience in flooring sales, design consultation, or in-home sales preferred.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home consultations with homeowners to assess flooring needs and present solutions.
• Use company-provided tablet and software to follow our proven sales process.
• Recommend flooring products across hardwood, carpet, tile, LVP, etc.
• Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the customer’s flooring project.
• Coordinate installation timelines and communicate with internal teams.
• Build strong customer relationships and local referral partnerships.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions (some travel may be required).
