Job summary

Tender Care in Asbury Park, NJ is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one, in-home care and support to individuals with diverse needs. You will help with daily living activities, safety, and quality of life in a compassionate, client-centered environment.

You will assist with ADLs, monitor health, help with medication administration, support therapy goals, and document care while maintaining a clean, safe home. This role offers meaningful work and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) preferred.
• Ability to monitor resident health and report changes promptly.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain.
• Strong communication with residents, families and team members.
• Compassionate attitude and desire to support individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including grooming, dressing, bathing and mobility.
• Monitor residents health by observing conditions and reporting changes promptly.
• Assist with medication administration per care plans.
• Coordinate with therapists and support ABA goals.
• Engage residents in community and recreational activities.
• Document care activities accurately per regulations and care plans.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through regular sanitation.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meals as needed.
