Job summary

Dominion Care is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Richmond, VA. The DSP role involves assisting with daily living, community engagement, and skill development in a compassionate team environment.

We offer competitive hourly pay ($16.50–$18.50) with part-time and full-time options, plus benefits such as tuition reimbursement, insurance, PTO, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers license in good standing.
• Reliable transportation with valid car insurance.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to engage and communicate with courtesy, tact, and good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to help individuals learn to be more independent and meet their goals.
• Demonstrates effective and professional communication with individuals and families/support systems.
• Assist with personal care and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Provide training in skills related to using community resources (transportation, shopping, social and recreational activities).
• Monitor health and physical condition and assist with medication management when applicable.
• Recognize and report suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Supervise individuals to ensure health and safety.
• Provide behavioral support and train adaptive skills for home/community settings.
• Facilitate involvement of individuals and families in service delivery and document progress.
