Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) in Saint Paul is seeking an In-Home Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with disabilities in their homes or community settings, focusing on safety, independence, and advocacy.

The role requires documentation, training participation, and strong communication and problem-solving skills; a valid driver's license and background check are required, with CPR/First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Background check requirements must be met.
• Successful completion of medication administration training.
• Computer and math skills are necessary.
• Able to read, write, solve problems and follow directions.
• Good decision-making skills and ability to respond to emergencies.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred (may be obtained after hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, encouragement, support, and advocacy to individuals with disabilities.
• Develop and monitor individual plans, hopes, and dreams; support independence.
• Maintain documentation and participate in trainings/meetings as required.
