Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home care to seniors in California, with flexible hours from 10 to 40 per week. As a Home care aide, you will follow care plans, assist with ADLs and personal hygiene, help with transfers, prepare meals, and perform light housekeeping.

Candidates must be 18+, have CA Home Care Aide Registry registration, a clean background, and reliable transportation. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Current registration with the California Home Care Aide Registry is required.
• Pass criminal background checks and meet training requirements.
• Evidence of TB testing and no active TB.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with ADLs within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide.
• Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing.
• Assisting clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and assisting with ambulation.
• Assisting with prescribed exercises which clients and aides have been taught by appropriate health personnel.
• Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets, and assisting clients with eating.
• Assisting clients to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans or urinals and incontinence care.
• Performing household services including housekeeping, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Assisting clients with medications reminders which are ordinarily self-administered.
• Reporting changes in the client's condition and needs to the administrator or care designer.
• Completing records regarding services performed.
• Driving to appointments or to run errands.
• Accurately records all hours worked.
• Remains alert throughout the shift in case client requires assistance, responds immediately to any such needs by providing the assistance required, or calling the Company for guidance.
• Participating in all required entry-level and annual training requirements.
• Maintaining an active home care aide registration with the State of Ca. Dept. of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau.
• Other duties as assigned by the administrator or designee.
