Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides to support seniors at home, with flexible 10–40 hour weekly shifts across morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight timeframes. Training is provided and CA Home Care Aide registration support is offered.

Prior caregiving experience is not required, and 18+ eligibility is emphasized. Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with ADLs, hygiene, mobility, meals, and light housekeeping, plus driving to appointments and

Qualifications

• 18+ years old and eligible for CA Home Care Aide registration
• Criminal background check completed per CA rules
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and communicate with clients

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Help clients with ADLs within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide.
• Assist clients with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing.
• Assist clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and ambulation.
• Assist with prescribed exercises taught by health personnel.
• Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets, and assisting clients with eating.
• Assist clients to bathroom or use of commodes and incontinence care.
• Perform household tasks including housekeeping, laundry, transportation, shopping and companionship.
• Assist clients with medications reminders if self-administered.
• Report changes to the administrator or care designer.
• Complete records regarding services performed.
• Drive to appointments or run errands.
• Record all hours worked accurately.
• Remain alert and respond to client needs promptly.
• Attend all required training and maintain Home Care Aide registration.
