Job summary

Seniors Helping Seniors KC Metro South is seeking an In Home Caregiver to assist clients under the Administrator's supervision. The role provides personal care and homemaker tasks to meet each client’s needs according to the plan of care, with careful observation and timely reporting.

You will observe physical, mental, and emotional conditions, document changes, help with medication reminders, and promote a safe, compassionate home environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, preferred.
• Must consent to and pass a background screening process.
• Have a baseline and annual TB test on record with Seniors Helping Seniors Kansas City Metro South.
• Complete a self-reported health history.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to express spoken and/or written ideas in English.
• Works as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
• Observe client’s physical, mental and emotional conditions and report changes
• Document observed changes and care performed
• Assist with medication reminders as needed
• Perform homemaker tasks: meals, dishes, laundry, shopping, household chores
• Provide companionship and socialization
• Ensure client safety and report emergencies to supervisor
