Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Possess a valid Connecticut driver’s license or state ID and DMHAS Recovery Assistant training; pass background check as required by DMHAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide Recovery Assistant services of at least 15 minutes in the participant’s home and in other community settings.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation, housekeeping, dressing, personal care, and routine tasks as needed.
• Support participation in family, social, and recreational activities and use of natural community supports.
• Assist with use of medications as prescribed and encourage healthy habits and adherence to appointments.
• Escort the participant to medical, dental, or personal business appointments and provide companionship.
• Engage in waiver Recovery Plan development and quarterly updates, and travel with participants when the Recovery Assistant is engaged in qualifying waiver activities.
