Job summary

Dialysis Care Center in Elgin, IL is seeking a Patient Care Tech - In Center to provide safe, high-quality hemodialysis care under RN supervision.

The role includes operating dialysis machines, monitoring vital signs, vascular access care, sample collection, and strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CCHT or state-required certification.
• CPR certification required.
• Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting; Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) experience a must.
• Must be productive & resourceful with ability to meet deadlines.
• 1+ years’ experience as a Patient Care Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter prescribed treatment into dialysis machine and set up/dismantle equipment.
• Monitor dialysis machines and water system, responding to alarms and ensuring patient safety.
• Take and document vitals before and after treatment.
• Perform vascular access evaluation pre-treatment and report findings to RN.
• Cannulate vascular access or catheter care as allowed by state law.
• Collect samples and prepare for shipping.
• Maintain safety and infection prevention measures and reinforce education to patients and families.
• Assist in inventory management.
