Ideal candidates have a teaching credential or are in an alternative certification path, classroom experience, and a commitment to student success. Training and ongoing development are provided on-site.

Qualifications

• Teaching Credential or enrolled in a certification program.
• Classroom teaching experience desired.
• Education major or ongoing college program.
• Two years of college for Math track is expected.

Responsibilities

• Greets students and initiates instruction to engage each student.
• Instructs students according to Sylvan program materials.
• Manages tasks and time to create balanced instructional sessions.
• Evaluates and records student progress on assignments.
• Uses praise to engage and inspire learners.
• Records tokens earned by students and tracks progress.
• Supports safety and well-being during sessions; completes learning logs.
• Communicates student needs to Center staff.
• Attends staff meetings and ongoing training.
• Completes paid certification training for taught programs.
