Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in ocean and/or air logistics.
• Knowledge of air freight, LCL, FCL, trucking and rail movements.
• Strong analytical and conflict resolution skills.
• Geography and international transactions knowledge related to forwarding.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Multitasks to meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Email, Internet and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit ISF and/or AMS filings when applicable.
• Process booking requests from Control Tower, Agents or Customers following SOPs.
• Track/trace shipments with carriers and update systems with required data events.
• Collect commercial documents for the customs broker.
• Issue CVI arrival notices to client and broker before shipment arrival.
• Arrange last mile deliveries with client and trucking company.
• Bill parties for services and assist with collections.
• Validate and post related payables for the job.
• Generate internal or external reports.
• Report issues, delays, and holds to the client as needed.
• Build strong relationships with clients and 3rd party providers.
• Provide prompt, courteous, and proactive service.
• Seek opportunities to promote the company and gain additional business.
• Action tasks as requested by management.

About the Role

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. Other duties may be assigned to meet changing business needs.

• Prepare and submit ISF and/or AMS filings when applicable.
• Process booking request from Control Tower, Agent or Customers and follow SOP guidelines with carrier assignments, container allocations and shipment routings.
• Track/trace shipments with airline carriers, ocean carriers, and other 3rd parties and update CVI’s operating system with required data events.
• Collect commercial documents from the responsible party to send to the assigned customs house broker (internal or external).
• Issue CVI arrival notices when required to the customer and customs house broker prior to shipment arrival and send with commercial documents.
• Arrange last mile deliveries with the client and assigned trucking company when required.
• Bill responsible parties for services render as quickly as possible and assist with collections as needed.
• Validate and post all related payables for the job.
• Generate internal or external reports as required.
• Report any issues, delays, customs holds to the client when needed.
• Build a strong business relationship with the clients and 3rd party providers.
• Provide prompt, courteous and proactive service to the clients.
• Seek opportunities to promote the company and gain additional business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in ocean and/or air logistics.
• Knowledge of various transportation modes including air freight, LCL, FCL as well as knowledge of domestic trucking and rail movements.
• Strong analytical and conflict resolution skills.
• General knowledge of geography and international transactions as related to the forwarding industry.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to perform/prioritize multiple tasks to meet various deadlines.
• Self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in general office computer skills – Email, internet, Microsoft office products.
