Job summary

Cargo Transport, Inc. in Sterling, VA is seeking an Import Agent to coordinate and track import shipments, ensure customs compliance, and prepare accurate documentation for inbound cargo movements.

You will communicate daily with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and international partners to provide status updates and resolve issues. The role requires data entry into freight management systems, filing and maintaining shipment records, organizing cargo releases, and assisting with billing

Qualifications

• Knowledge of import processes and ocean freight operations, including documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with customs brokerage procedures and coordination with authorities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills for interactions with clients and international partners.
• Proficiency with office and logistics software and accurate data entry.
• Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and problem solving in reviewing documents and compliance.
• Experience in freight forwarding or logistics preferred.
• High school diploma; post-secondary education in logistics or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities
