Paylocity is seeking an Import Specialist to manage entry of goods into the United States. You will prepare clearance documents, coordinate with Customs Brokers, and arrange freight delivery once authorized. The role ensures CBP and other agencies compliance and tracks shipments from origin to port.

Collaborating with customers and the sales team, you’ll develop import plans, obtain rates, and handle HTS classification discussions, while joining outreach programs as needed.

Qualifikationen

• 3-5 years of experience in import operations or international forwarding.
• Detailed knowledge of the import entry process and the documentation requirements to facilitate clearance of goods into the United States.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.
• Familiarity with U.S. Customs Regulations and government regulations affecting import entry.
• Knowledge of HTS classification and related import documentation requirements.
• Experience supporting the operation of a customs brokerage operation.

Description

Summary

The Import Specialist will assist with the entrance of goods into the United States. This representative will be responsible for the preparation of clearance documents, forwarding them to Customs Brokers or directly to Customs, and arranging delivery of the freight once it is authorized. The candidate will ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and other applicable Government Agencies. They will handle the daily flow of import shipments as assigned by the Import Manager. Other duties include tracking the cargo prior to arrival to the port of entry, acquiring rates and bids from potential delivery agents and communicating with foreign offices regarding the shipping plan.

• Detailed knowledge of the import entry process and the documentation requirements to facilitate the clearance of goods into the United States.

• Familiarity with U.S. Customs Regulations.
• Knowledge and experience with government regulations impacting the import entry process.
• General understanding of U.S. Customs documents and the circumstances under which each are required.
• Experience with supporting the operation of a customs brokerage operation and knowledge of the necessary controls
• Familiarity with (C-TPAT), Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program.
• Bachelor's Degree in business administration or logistics or equivalent experience
