Position Summary:

The Import/Export Logistics Specialist will manage the inbound parts imports - shipments from Daifuku Japan and other offshore vendors.

Ideal candidate:

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring Sponsorship
Responsibilities

Daily management of inbound parts imports - shipments from Daifuku Japan and other offshore vendors, including:

  • Coordination with internal departments on international logistics and trade compliance to ensure shipments arrive as needed, clear customs, and flow through the system. (may include Wynparts/Order fulfillment team, Purchasing, Project Managers, Project Engineers);
  • Becoming the main point of contact for external Customs Brokers, Carriage Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and logistics providers regarding Daifuku Intralogistics America Parts imports.

Weekly/Monthly management of parts exported to Canada, Mexico, and beyond, including:

  • AES filings either directly on ACE or through a Customs broker
  • Checking with internal Trade Compliance personnel and/or external Legal Trade representatives on the need for export licensure of items on the Commerce Control List (e.g., solenoids, cameras, semiconductor chips)
  • Collaborating with engineers & project personnel on longer Initial Spares Lists requiring functional detail
  • Ensuring Daifuku Intralogistics complies with all regulatory Trade Compliance requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Managing customer spare parts orders (Wynparts) from order notice to delivery
  • Tracking and managing Work-In-Process Parts (Conveyor components) from order notice to delivery
  • Managing emergency replacement parts (Global Management System) from order notice to delivery
  • Overseeing domestic and offshore AS/RS System Upgrades involving international parts content
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; formal or informal training in international logistics is a plus
  • Experience with tariff classification, including but not limited to: a) industrial machinery & electronics (HTUS Chapters 84-85); b) Structural steel articles (Chapters 72-73); c) Structural Aluminum articles (Chapter 76); d) Articles of Plastic (Chapter 39); e) Articles of Rubber (Chapter 40)
  • Experience with international freight forwarding and Customs transactions
  • Experience with/training in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and CBSA CARM system in Canada
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, AdobePro, Microsoft Access (preferred)
  • SAP training a plus
  • Military experience highly valued; any MOS, AFSC, or NEC welcome.
