Position Summary:
The Import/Export Logistics Specialist will manage the inbound parts imports - shipments from Daifuku Japan and other offshore vendors.
Ideal candidate:
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring Sponsorship
- Ability to work non-traditional working hours
Responsibilities
Daily management of inbound parts imports - shipments from Daifuku Japan and other offshore vendors, including:
- Coordination with internal departments on a) international logistics and b) international trade compliance to ensure shipments arrive as needed, clear customs, and flow through the system. (may include Wynparts/Order fulfillment team, Purchasing, Project Managers, Project Engineers);
- Becoming the main point of contact for external Customs Brokers, Carriage Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and logistics providers on Daifuku Intralogistics America Parts imports.
Weekly/Monthly management of parts exported to Canada, Mexico, and beyond, including:
- AES filings either direct on ACE or through a Customs broker
- Check with internal Trade Compliance personnel and/or external Legal Trade representatives on the need for export licensure of any items appearing on the Commerce Control List (solenoids, cameras, semiconductor chips, etc.)
- Collaboration with engineers & project personnel on longer Initial Spares Lists requiring functional detail
- Working to ensure Daifuku Intralogistics does its due diligence and complies with all regulatory Trade Compliance.
Essential Job Functions:
- Customer spare parts orders (Wynparts) - Track and manage from order notice to delivery
- Work-In-Process Parts (Conveyor components) - Track and manage from order notice to delivery
- Emergency replacement parts (Global Mgmt. System) - Track and manage from order notice to delivery
- Domestic and offshore AS/RS System Upgrades with international parts content
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree desired, but not required; formal or informal training in international logistics a plus
- Experience with tariff classification, including/not limited to: a) industrial machinery & electronics (HTUS Chapters 84-85); b) Structural steel articles (Chapters 72-73); c) Articles of Plastic (Chapter 39); d) Articles of Rubber (Chapter 40)
- Experience with international freight forwarding and Customs transactions
- Experience with/training on the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and CBSA CARM system in Canada
- Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, AdobePro, Microsoft Access (preferred)
- SAP training a plus
- Military experience highly valued; any MOS, AFSC, or NEC welcome.
