Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking an Import/Export Logistics Coordinator in Buffalo, NY. You will manage domestic and international shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
  • 2-5 years of import/export or international logistics experience.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, international shipping regulations, and customs compliance.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Strong understanding of transportation management and logistics processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Acumatica, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Import/Export Logistics Coordinator

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $24.00 - $30.00 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and may also include premium pay or differentials, depending on location.

The compensation rate for this position is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The Import/Export Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, coordinating transportation, and maintaining accurate shipping documentation. This role works closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and internal departments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished goods.

What are the key skills we are looking for?
  • Coordinate international and domestic shipments via air, ocean, rail, and ground transportation.
  • Prepare and review import/export documentation including:
    • Commercial Invoices
    • Packing Lists
    • Bills of Lading
    • Certificates of Origin
    • Export Declarations
    • Customs documentation
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, international trade regulations, and company policies.
  • Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to facilitate customs clearance.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve transportation delays or issues.
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and warehouses.
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and logistics reports.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, and Sales to meet delivery schedules.
  • Verify freight invoices and approve transportation charges.
  • Maintain Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and country-of-origin records.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation related to inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
