Job summary

Legacy Supply Chain is seeking an Import Specialist / Customs Entry Writer in Ohio to classify and submit documentation for imports, ensuring CBP compliance. The role includes a competitive salary, bonus plan, and a 401(k) with company match, along with a robust benefits package.

Responsibilities include daily entry filings, preparing 7501/3461 documentation, verifying origin, and coordinating with carriers to ensure on-time delivery. Strong knowledge of U.S.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in international logistics or customs brokerage.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, Incoterms, and HTS classification.
• Strong understanding of U.S., Asia, and EU customs regulations.
• Experience in multinational customs & VAT environments.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other pertinent software.

Responsibilities

• Daily entry filing and familiarity with OGAs (FDA, FCC, USDA, etc.).
• Prepare entry documentation including 7501, 3461, etc.
• Prepare customs brokerage file.
• Verify arrival information with Airlines/NVOCCs/Steamship Lines.
• Rate commercial invoices with tariff numbers.
• Verify country of origin.
• Prepare entry documents for Customs approval and duty payment.
• Prepare delivery order and notify trucker.
• Advise importers on tariff classifications, regulations and procedures.
• Ensure timely filings and freight delivery per company/customer expectations.
• Maintain customer service functions and handle inquiries.
